Details:
Join our Mushroom Foraging Event where we visit the state forest under the expert guidance of my mother. She has a life time experience of gathering, preserving and cooking mushrooms.
As part of this event, we will: • show you what is safe to pick • demonstrate how to prepare, cook and store mushrooms, plus a recipe card to take home • provide lunch in the forest which will include mushrooms • and you take home what you find.
In the event of bad weather, or last-minute road closures, we will run cooking demonstrations at Fifth Ave Katoomba Retreat on all things mushrooms, instead. From mushroom-based sauces, button mushrooms filled with pesto, pickled mushrooms and more.
