Join us in celebrating the solo exhibition of work by Maeve Dunnett at Gallery NWC.
ARTIST STATEMENT
"I see, hear, feel, touch, I experience. This is where my work comes from, I listen, feel and draw. The land and all that lives there speaks. The awe and wonder I feel, work into the drawings, expressions from each place. Walking amongst the Oreades, tea trees, banksias, lyrebirds, black cockatoos, leaf litter and all the myriad creatures I cannot see; it’s woven together.
Some of the work starts it’s journey as paper left in the bush, allowing the land to make it’s marks, to speak. These works are a collaboration between the myself and the land, the land I live and work on, Dharug and Gundungurra country. The smaller collaged works are a listening to internal voices, speaking the language of the heart mind."
