In its final starring role for the year, 125 year old steam loco ‘Stevo’ will be fired up on Sunday 26 November to haul an 1890-built carriage on a 20 minute steam train ride*, included in admission. Enjoy the comforts, sights and sounds of 19th century transport as this familiar favourite huffs and puffs up and down a dedicated track. Then check out the stunning array of remarkable engines, carriages, wagons and railway artefacts that make the Museum a great experience for families and enthusiasts of all ages.
Take in the unique artworks; inspect the ‘Ice van’; savour the ambience of the first class ‘Caves Express’ carriage; hear the story of ‘Harry’ and ‘Charlie’ as they prepare for their day’s work on a sturdy goods locomotive; gaze at the model train layouts; relax at the café with a ‘gourmet’ sandwich, meat pie or sausage roll, plus barista coffee, cold drink or milk shake.
