On Saturday 6 August 2022, the Blue Mountains Historical Society will hold its next public meeting and talk commencing at 10.30am at the History Research Rooms at 99 Blaxland Road, Wentworth Falls.

Dick Adams APM OAM will be speaking about “A Yankee Trooper – William Wallace Hollister.”

Dick Adams was a member of the New South Wales police force for 35 years. He held a number of executive positions in the Police Force, including Deputy Commissioner Corporate Services.

Born in the USA in 1836 and dying in Springwood in 1915, William Hollister kept a diary of his activities to which Adams refers in his talk.

This will be an exciting return to the days of bushrangers, gold escort robberies and all the minutiae of the trooper’s life.

Tea and coffee are available for a gold-coin donation from 9.45 am. Entry free to members, $5.00 for non-members.
