On Sunday 23 February 2020, the Blue Mountains Historical Society’s 19th century cottage museum, Tarella, at 99 Blaxland Road, Wentworth Falls, opens for viewing at 10.00 am, closing at 3.00 pm, with last entry 2.45 pm. This is our very first Open Day for 2020 so come along and visit us.

As well as our normal exhibits, which tell the story of the McLaughlin family who lived in the cottage, you will be able to find items from the Florence Evelyn Moore Collection. These items, a recent donation, tell us more about Ada McLaughlin’s family.

In the Exhibition Room, the current exhibition is on the early history of the Blue Mountains as a medical centre: hospitals at Wentworth Falls and the 1919 Spanish Flu epidemic.

Devonshire teas and soup are available in the Research Centre Kitchen for a small charge.

Weather permitting, picnic in our spacious grounds – hot water freely available from our Kitchen in the Research Centre.

The books in our Buff local history series are for sale, as is our Tarella postcard.

Entry charges to Tarella are $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for children. Please note that we can only accept cash; we have no card facilities.
