Lyttleton Stores is excited to offer a Tutored Life Drawing workshop, following on from our successful untutored life drawing group sessions. This workshop will introduce you to classical ideas and techniques for drawing the life model, with the aim of improving your own drawing and furthering your understanding and appreciation of drawings of the old masters. We will touch upon volume, proportion, perspective and anatomy, as well as pencil techniques to enrich your drawing vocabulary.

What to expect:

This class is an accessible introduction to classical drawing techniques. You will draw from a live model and learn to analyse the human figure, simplifying complex anatomy into easily understood forms, and expressing them on paper.

It is suitable both for beginners and more experienced artists alike as the concepts and techniques are likely to be new to all. Experienced artists will gain valuable tools to further enhance their own art.

The workshop will alternate between demonstrations from the tutor and lots of drawing practice with guidance and feedback. You will draw from the model with a variety of poses over a number of durations allowing drawings ranging from quick sketches to longer, more considered pieces.

About your tutor:

Mark Divall is a classically trained artist who studied drawing and painting at Sydney’s famous Julian Ashton Art School.

What’s included:

$40 includes model, easel, tuition and refreshments.

Cancellation Policy:

Please note that workshops are non-refundable, however, if you give 48 hours notice of cancellation, we will issue a workshop credit, which you can then apply to a different workshop
