Think BIG!: Raising your Child in a Digital World

Sat 26 May 2018
2 - 4pm
Think BIG! The Ideas Forum of the Lower Mountains Neighbourhood Centre is pleased to present Raising your Children in a Digital World (3 - 12 years) - a forum with Dr Kristy Goodwin.

What is this event about?
Dr Kristy Goodwin helps parents and professionals working with families (educators and health professionals) find the best ways to use technology to support, not stifle young children’s learning and development. She marries the latest research from a range of disciplines (including neuroscience, developmental science and technology research) to provide a comprehensive and cutting-edge perspective about the impact of “digitalised childhoods” on young children’s learning, health and wellbeing. Kristy shows parents and educators that technology isn’t necessarily toxic or taboo and it won’t damage your child’s development if it’s used the right ways. Kristy arms parents with facts, not fears, about the impact of screens on kids' learning, health and development (without telling you to digitally amputate your child). This seminar is designed for parents of primary school students.
