Hidden in Plein View - An exhibition by Heather Dunn

When:
Every day until Tue 24 Apr 2018
Details:
Heather Dunn practices art across a range of mediums, but often circles back to textiles. Her art takes a more meditative approach to a theme when using textiles to layer meaning and process to express the ideas that emerge from the enquiry. Currently her work is focusing on the way we describe landforms, and why we need to partition land, and the dichotomy between space and enclosure within the landscape. Heather is exploring the hidden landlines in vistas, and the way colonial acquisition of land has contributed to conflict and land degradation. She is working in woven tapestry, cloth collage and complex mixed media cloth to respond to these themes. En plein air charcoal drawings, and studio studies of tone further inform these themes.
