Camino Dinners

Selected Dates until Fri 24 Nov 2017
7pm start

Friday 27 January 2017 - then held on Fridays 24 February, 28 April, 26 May, 30 June, 29 September, 27 October, 24 November 2017.

One of the oldest towns in Australia – Blackheath, celebrates one of the world’s oldest Christian pilgrimages – the Camino to Santiago de Compostella in Spain. We are here in the Blue Mountains to support all Caminos in Spain and we exist only to share the wonderful spirit of the Camino that so many of us call – life changing, wonderful and amazing. The Blue Mountains Australia Supporters of the Camino try to emulate the dinners, conduct training walks in our local, beautiful Blue Mountains and help those who dream of walking and those who have walked and just want to know more; to understand the power and healing that can be derived from this ancient pilgrimage.

We hold Camino dinners with delicious Spanish inspired ‘pilgrim’ meals and Santiago tart, fruit juice and wine, tea and coffee at our spiritual home at Glenella Guesthouse, 56 Govetts Leap Rd, Blackheath in the Blue Mountains. There are eight dinners are held on the last Friday of the month commencing at 7.00pm and generally finishing around 10.00pm. For 2017 there will be no dinners in March, July, August and December. The cost of the dinners (except Christmas dinner in November) is $30 per person by paying cash at the door. To avoid disappointment it is recommended to reserve your seat/s early by contacting Tony via email link or mobile 0412 359 101 for enquiries.

Camino activities continue on the Saturday following the dinners starting with a local walk of around 3 hours with a coffee break half way before returning to Blackheath. Then the afternoon activities held at Glenella Guesthouse are Camino related information and/or training finishing off with a related DVD and a casual meal.

Many regular attendees at the Camino dinners travel from afar and may stay overnight in the local area enabling them to walk the following day and join in the Camino activities. Further information available on our website and also Facebook. For enquiries regarding accommodation, please contact the relevant guesthouse directly.

Join us to learn, listen, give back or get involved – Everyone is Welcome!
