Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.

Blackheath Women

On Thursday 10th Di Landsberg sponsored a Single Stableford. The day was windy but that did not stop Trish Honeysett (29) from compiling a winning score of 39 points. Di Landsberg (26) recorded the next best score (36) but had to face the quandary that sponsors find themselves in when they win their own events. So, Marilyn Rowe (33) with only 33 points scrambled onto the victory dais to claim runner-up status. Nearest the Pin on the 7th was won by Lesley Robinson, while Jennifer Wild won the Blackheath Vegie Patch-sponsored 13th. Balls went to Trish, Di, Marilyn, L.Robinson, Rhonda Lonergan, Yvonne Murray, R.Perry, A.Morris and Mandy McAlister.

On Saturday 12th May, there was no competition.

BLACKHEATH MEN

On Wednesday 9th May the Men held their usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. In beautiful weather Jim Walsh (18) scored 39 points and a $50 Voucher to win over Larry Manning (18) with 38 points. These two deserved their results. They play regularly and well. Jim combined with long-time playing partner Geoff Hilder (23) to get 47 points in the 2BBB, winning on countback from Larry and Shane Murphy (3). NTP’s were won by Russell Curtis at the 5th (460cm) and Garry Way at the 17th (176cm) Balls went to 36 points OCB.

On Saturday 12th May our sponsor was Mick Campbell of “Mountain Stone Design”, a company that can artistically build anything (walls, stairs, fountains…) in stone. We ran our Monthly Medal, the Gold Medal Playoff, and a Single Stableford in coolish conditions that worsened throughout the day. The Gold Medal is still undecided following a tie between Paul Rowe (16) and Phil Binskin (21) who recorded nett 67’s. It will be decided in one month. Roy Najjar (31) won the Monthly Medal with nett 64 over Rod Welsh (22) with 66. Andrew Lawson (5) won the best scratch score in the stroke event with 77. Cameron Braid (5) won the Single Stableford with 39 points. Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, James Robertson 446cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Greg McDonald 38cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Steve Caswell 274cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Alwyn Yard 377cm (Al says it was a fluke). 14th hole, no-one. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Joe Landsberg 94cm. Joe’s effort, because it was within 1.5 metres, won him our lucrative “Pro-Pin”.

Sunday 13th May saw the conclusion of our Matchplay Championships. In A Grade, Rob Thompson won his final over Graham Dowdell. In B Grade, it was Steve Rabone over Steve Caswell, and in C Grade Phil Binskin defeated Bob Montgomery.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.

To play in our comps, or for enquiries, ring Darrin Walden's Proshop on 47875643.
