Blackheath Golf Results - 6th June to 9th June 2018
On Thursday 7th June Suzie Tonkin and Jocalyn Lawler sponsored the NSW GNSW 4B vs Par qualifiers. Margaret Booth (13) and Di Landsberg (27) with +5 won OCB over Carrie Soady (24) and Jeanette Hawkins (35). Nearest the pin on the 7th went to Carrie, while Di Landsberg won the Blackheath Veggie-Patch-sponsored 13th. Balls went to Margaret, Di, Carrie, Jeanette, Karen Tolhurst, Barb Wall and Roz Starkey.
On Wednesday 6th June the Men held their usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. In overcast, wet & windy conditions Ian Griffiths (10) scored 44 points, which is a very difficult feat to accomplish off that handicap and in that weather. He played the course in 2 over par! Not resting, he combined with Joe Landsberg (10) to win the 2BBB (48 points). NTP’s were won by Michael Mole at the 5th (265cm) and Barry Simpson at the 17th (376cm). Balls went to 33 points OCB.
On Saturday 9th June we ran a Medley Single Stableford and 4-Person Multiplier. Drizzly weather added to the challenge, but the wind behaved itself. Rebecca Brown (42) had a day out, winning the Single Stableford with 42 points and then being part of the winning Multipier Team. Wally Shiel, Alistair Campbell and Steve Williams joined her on the dais, all very happy to be a massive 100 points ahead of the field with 378 points. Mick Strong (27) was the other prizewinner, coming runner-up in the Single Stableford with 39 points, Nearest the Pin awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Ian Fitzgerald 116cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Darrell Gawthorpe 370cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Rhonda Lonergan 162cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Darrell Gawthorpe 427cm. 14th hole, Ian Fitzgerald 12 metres. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Rod Tubbs. Rod’s effort, because it was within 1.5 metres, won him our lucrative “Pro-Pin”, worth $181 on the day. Balls went to 35 OCB.
