Next week is our annual Medley Single Stableford “Ham and Pudding Day”, an event not to be missed, with prizes for everyone.

Then next Sunday the 17th, the BLACKHEATH OPEN, sponsored by RAY WHITE Blackheath, will be held, on the prettiest course in the mountains.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 6th December was the usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Overnight heavy rain probably made the course a bit tougher, but that was offset by Bunkers being ruled GUR. Michael Mole ended a long drought caused by his ability by beating his 14 handicap by 4 strokes. He won $50. Evergreen Roger Pierce (17) was 2 shots behind. Michael and Andrew Price (24) managed 45 point in the 2BBB, and that was enough, by one shot. They both pocketed $30. Runners-up won $15 each, and that result was obtained by Brian Tulloch (17) and Joe Landsberg (12). Balls went to 35pts OCB. Nearest the Pin on the 5th was won by Geoff Hilder (105cm), and Beau Flaherty on the 17th (640cm).

Saturday 9th December was a Single Stableford and 2BBB event sponsored by Dave Swift and Steve Rabone. The winner of $60 was Rodney Haines (25) with an impressive 41 points. Chris Psomas, a visitor from "the SGA GC" came second with 40 points off 23 handicap. The 2BBB went to Rod, alongside Rua Kenny, a longstanding and worthy member, who used his 23 handicap to good effect in hauling the team up to 47 points. Balls went to 36 points OCB.

Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Russell Curtis 120cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Ian Griffiths 280cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Chad Baker 304cm.13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Jim Watson 150cm. 14th hole Andrew Lawson 114cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Ken Scully 160cm. The ProPin jackpotted and is will now provide a cash prize commensurate to the magnificence of stopping a ball within 150cm of the hole.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Thursday 7th December was a Single Stableford sponsored by Margie Tubbs. Jeanette Hawkins (33) 33 won over Etsuko Saxton (45) 30. The NTP awardon the Blackheath “Vegie Patch” 13thwas Rosalie Rolfe.Balls were won by Jeanette Hawkins, Etsuko, Trish Honeysett, Di Pease, Mandy McAlister, Marilyn Rowe, Karen Tolhurst, Carrie Soady and Rosalie Rolfe.

Saturday 9th December was a single Stableford 3 person Golden Ball Comp sponsored by Blue Mountains Escapes and Carrie Soady. The winner was Rozi Starkey (45) with 34 points followed by Sandra Draper (29) with 34 points. NTP awards went to Sandra on the 7th and Carrie on the Vegie Patch 13th. Balls went to Rozi, Sandra, Di Pease, Marilyn Rowe, Virginia Hurst, Margaret Booth, Yvonne Murray, Jeanette Hawkins and Joan Aitken. The Golden Ball winners were Di Pease (24), Carrie Soady (23) and Jocalyn Lawler (31). Roz Allen received an encouragement award.
