On Fridays our 9-hole Single Stableford Comp that runs all day continues. This comp is a winner-takes-all with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.
Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
To play in our comps, or for enquiries, ring Darrin Walden's Proshop on 47875643.

BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 5th July was a Single Stableford sponsored by Di Landsberg. In sunny, cool and windy weather Roz Starkey (44) 30 won from Chris Rhind (28) 29. Chris then mopped up, winning the NTP prize on the 7th. The 13th “Blackheath Vegie Patch”-sponsored Nearest the Pin was won by Virginia Hurst. Balls went to Roz, Chris, Virginia, A. Morris, Ro Perry, Rhonda Lonergan, Joan Aitken, Di Landsberg, Jeanette Hawkins and Louise Aaron.

Saturday 7th July was very cold and windy. Nine holes was enough for those (fool)hardy enough to start, but not enough for a formal competition.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 27th June was our usual Tee Single Stableford and 2BBB. The Singles winner was Kevin Tooke (26) 38 on countback over Paul Rowe (17). Kevin and Clive Home, an unlikely pair, managed 47 points in the 2BBB to win from Kit Newcombe (8) and Adam Preen (17) who were in a group on 44 points. Balls went to 33 OCB. Nearest the Pins were won by Roger Pierce at the 5th (288cm) and to Geoff Hilder at the 17th (48cm!).

Saturday 7th July was our Monthly Medal sponsored by Ray Hawkins. As usual, we ran a White Course Single Stableford as an option for those who don’t like stroke rounds. And there were good reasons for not liking a Stroke round. The weather was extremely challenging for the earlier golfers, with strong gusty winds and 2-3° temperatures. Our visitors from Long Reef and Manly missed the surf and sun and the prizes. Local mountain-boy Alistair Campbell (9) cracked 80 by one shot to win the Medal. Graham Dowdell (10) 71 came second. Ian Fitzgerald (14) was awarded the Best Scratch prize. The Single Stableford was won by Ian Foulsham (21) 44. Balls went to Nett 75 in the Stroke Comp and to 33 points in the Single Stableford. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Paul Jones (63cm). On the 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains) was M.Thompson (136cm). On the 7th (SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing) Jonathan Van Veen got within 10 metres. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) Jason Duke (102cm) won. On the 14th it was the anonymous no-one. The 190 metre shot into a headwind made the green inaccessible. On the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Lachie Foulsham hit to within 74cm. Lachie graciously refused to accept the accompanying Pro-Pin Prize, preferring to have it jackpot into next week.
