Blackheath Golf Results - 26th September to 29th September 2018
Thursday 27th September was a Single Stableford sponsored by Marilyn Rowe. Chris Rhind (29) won with a mere 32 points, skilfully achieving the win whilst preserving her handicap. Yvonne Murray (20) came second with 30. Nearest-the Pin on the 17th was won by Anne Morris while the Blackheath Vegie Patch-sponsored 13th was won by Roz Starkey. Balls went to 28 on count back.
Saturday 29th September was another Single Stableford sponsored by Rebecca Brown. Sandra Draper (26) continued her good form (present since she purchased a new driver from Darrin) to win with 37 points. Di Landsberg (23) was runner-up with 34. Rebecca won the 13th Vegie Patch nearest-the-pin and Sandra Draper won the 7th. Balls went to 29 OCB.
Wednesday 26th September was our monthly “Tiger Tee” Single Stableford and 2BBB with big prizes. Barry Simpson (10), on a wet and cold day, managed 37 points to win over Andrew Price (24) with 30. Steve Rabone (13) was lucky to have Barry as partner in the 2BBB. They combined to win with 41 points. Balls went to 36 OCB.
Saturday 29th September was a Single Stableford in 3 Grades, sponsored by Mike Gregg. A Grade went to Jonathan Van Veen (6) with 36 points over John Bromhead (8) 36. B Grade winner was Gary Way (17, 38) over Peter Messer (16, 37). C Grade winner was Greg Nankervis (23, 41) over David Cunneen (30, 41). Balls went to 35 points. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Rua Kenny (100cm). On the 5th (Office Choice/LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Blue Mountains) was Dave Robertson (259cm). Paul Rowe won the 7th (SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing) with a shot to115cm. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes hole) Henry Scott won and on the 14th it was Brett Scanlan. Undoubtedly, the highlight of the day came from Roger Pierce who aced the 17th, the hole with the (historically) lowest number of holes-in won on our par 3’s since the course was changed in 1996. His was the 9th ace. He won our Pro-Pin at a bad time, because it was won the week previously. Nevertheless, he won $66 and the Club offered everyone free drinks on his behalf for his hole-in-one.
On Fridays our 9-hole Single Stableford Comp was won by Les Tucker with 21 points. This comp cost 5 dollars to enter (plus green fees which are $0 for members and discounted for non-members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game. Any time of day.
To play in our comps, or for enquiries, ring Darrin Walden's Proshop on 4787 5643.
