Blackheath Golf Results - 25th April to 28th April 2018

Source: Blackheath Golf Club
Archived 30 Jun 2018 - Posted: 30 Apr 2018
Our Redleaf Resort Autumn Bowl is on next weekend. We want Clubs or individuals to enter medley teams of four, then enjoy a weekend of Blackheath hospitality and great golf.

Anzac Day

A 4 Person Medley Ambrose was chosen as a friendly event to match Rotary’s involvement. Funds were raised for Rotary, and our Club. Sponsors Mandy and Warren McAlister generously contributed to the day by providing prizes for the winning group. Andrew Komma, Chris Baker, Sam Gray and Brett Bones won with nett 52.25. The Fitzgerald’s (Ian & Cindy), along with Rod Welsh and Matt Hill, were runners-up. Various other prizes were given for longest drives (Deb Young and Adam Preen) and to nearest the pins (Cindy Fitzgerald and Ken Scully). The day was a success, giving meaning to the “Community” in our name. Over the past 2 weeks we have held several events supporting fundraising that will feed back into the community.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Thursday 26th April was a Par Event sponsored by Ro Perry. Ro, off 22, won her own event by breaking even. Di Landsberg (27) came second OCB over Jean Simpson on minus 1. Nearest-the-Pin on the 5th hole was Louise Aaron, while the Blackheath "Vegie Patch"-sponsored 13th Hole was won by Anne Morris. Balls went to Ro, Di, Jean, Etsko Saxton, Carrie Soady, Sandra Draper, Yvonne Murray and Jennifer Wilde.

Saturday 28th April was a Single Stableford sponsored by Suzie Tonkin. Jenelle Sanna (30) won with 34 points. Runner-up was Di Pease (22) with 32 points. Di Landsberg won the 2nd hole NTP and Cindy Fitzgerald won on the “Blackheath Vegie Patch”-sponsored 13th hole. Balls went to Jenelle, Di, D. Picello, Carrie Soady, Yvonne Murray, R. Brown, Di Landsberg, Maree Griffiths, Roz Starkey, Cindy Fitzgerald and Kerry Wynne.

BLACKHEATH MEN

SATURDAY 28th April was a Single Stableford sponsored by our popular pro, Darrin Walden. The day was cool and drizzly with early fog. Typical weather, so no problems. Dave Birrell (18) carried the day with 42 points to win by three over Don Griffith (26) and by four over Ken Scully (19) OCB.

The Nearest-to-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Rod Welsh. He was only 1cm from the hole! Tom Medcalf won two NTP’s, at the 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains) (480cm), and at the 14th (290cm). Dave Hall won the 7th (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan’s hole) at 128 cm, and then it was the Dave Robertson show. Dave holed the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes hole) in one, then got to within 174 cm on Ben Cameron's 17th hole to win that. Holes-in-one are special, so congratulations Dave!
