BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 25th October was the annual Blackheath Women’s Golf Open, sponsored by Blackheath Shoe Shop, Adam Aitken, Murray Mehrtens, De Neev Gibson, Ros Allen, Ros Starkey and Jocalyn Lawler. Visitors were welcomed from Oberon, Lithgow, Leura, Wentworth Falls and Mollymook. Ro Perry and Anne Morris were winners in Division 1 OCB over Ali Brinkman and Karen Tolhurst. In Division 2, Louise Aaron and Trish Honeysett (39) pipped Dorelle Piwert and Linda Anderson. Nearest-the-Pins went to Linda Anderson (2nd Hole), Elaine Soulion (5th), Ali Brinkman (7th), Christine Hargreaves (13th), Mandy McAlister (14th) and Trish Honeysett (17th). Anne Fraser was the Division 1 longest driver and Rebecca Brown Division 2’s.

Saturday 27th October was a Single Stableford sponsored by Jean Simpson. Cindy Fitzgerald (18, 31) won the day from Yvonne Murray (21, 29). Nearest-the-Pins went to Yvonne on the 7th and to Cindy on the Vegie Patch-sponsored 13th. Balls went to 25.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 24th October was our usual 4BBB and Single Stableford. Graham Jones (20) surprised even himself with 43 points to win over Trevor Thomas (7) 40. Graham combined with Peter White (25) to win the 4BBB with 46 points. Runners-up were Wally Shiel (21) and Geoffrey Cope (13) with 45. Page Lost won the 2nd NTP and Stuart Brown the 17th (235cm). Balls went to 35 OCB.

Saturday 27th October was a Single Stableford and 2BBB sponsored by David Jones and Roger Saxton. A fine day greeted the field, with the course looking, and playing, superbly. Winner of the Single Stableford was John Grant (18) 42 on countback over Dave Robertson (16). 2BBB winners were John Hollis (19) and Dave Robertson with 48 points. 2nd OCB were Dave Brown (16) and John Grant. Balls went to 36. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Barry Simpson (92cm). Ian Fitzgerald won the 5th (LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Katoomba) at 133cm. Gavin Stanford won the SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing 7th hole (74cm). On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) Dave Robertson got to 174cm. Andrew Stanford (312cm) won the 14th. On the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Ian Fitzgerald hit it to 152cm.

MEN’S 4BBB MATCHPLAY FINAL

The Men’s 4BBB Matchplay Final (Arthur Hand Trophy) was won by Carlos Denoso and Roger Pierce over Rob Thompson and Garry Way.

MEDLEY

Our Friday 9-hole Stableford Comp was won by irrepressible Bob Montgomery with 21 points. This comp is a MEDLEY (men and women), with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees for non-members which are ONLY $10). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

LEGENDS Pro-Am

This is on Wednesday 7th November. It features great names from the past. Roger Davis, Mike Harwood and others will play. There are still vacancies for any player from any Club to be a part of this great event. For a spot, ring Darrin on 47875643.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
