BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 22nd November was the usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Peter Messer surprised everyone by amassing 40 points from a 17 handicap. Peter's last desperate tactic has been to sell half his clubs and to only use the other half. He is now more decisive in his choice of club. He wants to write a book now... Second was Peter Bamford with 39 points off 14. The 2BBB winners were Peter and Trevor Thomas (6) with 48 points from Stephen York (18) and Darren Barnes (12) with 47. NTP awards went to Steve Rabone at the 5th (176cm) and Trevor Thomas at the 17th (220cm). Trevor also holed the 13th in ONE (ho-hum, it was not his first)).

On Saturday 25th November Blue Mountains Escapes and the Rhododendron Committee sponsored our 50th "Rhododendron Day". The winners were Steve Caswell (21) 45 and Rhonda Lonergan (22) 36. Because of the generous sponsorship from Blue Mountains Escapes, we also awarded $125 each to the A Grade winner (Rob Thompson (7) 44), and the B Grade winner (Graham Dowdell (13) 40). Evening out the Lonergan household was Mick, who won the Bradman's award for the worst score of those who attended the presentation. Balls went to 36 points. We had visitors from local clubs and Penrith. They provided excellent company and enjoyed the course.

Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Ian Griffiths 108cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Phill Paull. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Ian Evans 42cm.13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Nigel Wilde 228cm. 14th hole, Peter Messer using his driver 96cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Graham Dowdell 226cm.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Thursday 23rd November was a Single Stableford sponsored by Joan Hart and Blackheath Women's Golf. The day was made magic by 22 Mona Vale women golfers who joined us for a good time. Carol Donaldson (36) won with 38 points OCB from Michelle Crowe (23). Di Landsberg came 3rd with 37 points off 27.

NTP awards went to Wendy Bailey on the 2nd, Rhonda Lonergan on the 5th, Mandy McAlister on the 7th, Helen Rabone on the Vegie Patch 13th, Kate Harris on the 14th and Sandra Draper on the 17th. Helen, off 45, managed her first birdie ever! There were 2 longest drive awards. Glenda Lloyd was the furthest of the 0-30 handicappers, and C. Donaldson the longest of the longer handicappers.

Balls went to C.Donaldson, M.Crowe, Di Landsberg, Rosalie Rolfe, Sandra Draper, L.Gillespie, C.Davidson, Di Pease, Glenda Lloyd, and K. Harris.

Course conditions are excellent with true greens and lush fairways.
