Once the days get a bit longer, we will be holding a BBQ at the completion of our Friday comp, with players, their families and friends welcome to come along and enjoy our wonderful club. To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 23rdAugust was a Single Stableford sponsored by Chris Rhind. The winner was Yvonne Murray (23) with 41 points. Runner up was Etsuko Saxton (42) with 35. The Women’s Nearest-the-Pin on the 17th was won by Louise Aaronwhile the Blackheath Vegie patch-sponsored 13th was won by Di Pease. Balls went to 30 OCB included Yvonne, Chris, Etsuko, Di, A. Morris, L. Robinson, Louise, Jean Simpson and Mandy McAlister.

Saturday 25th was a Single Stabeford sponsored by Ros Starkey. The winner was Etsuko Saxton (42) with 35 points OCB over Yvonne Murray (22). Yvonne won the 13th Vegie Patch Nearest-the-Pinand Di Landsberg won the 7th. Balls went to 30 and included Etsuko, Yvonne, Kerry Wynne, Carrie Soady, Rebecca Brown, Di Landsberg and Rhonda Lonergan.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 22ndAugust was our usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Steve Caswell (17) won the single Stableford 42 points over Carlos Denoso (12) 40. The 2BBB winners were Steve and Ian Griffiths (7) with 46 points. Mick Lonergan (16) and John Holmes (15) were close runners-up with 45 points.  Balls went to 36 OCB. Nearest-the Pin prizes went to Ian Griffiths on the 2nd (280cm) and Clive Home on the 17th (98cm).

Saturday 25th August was a 2-Man Ambrose played in interesting weather. Thankfully, it was not cold, but fog, then light drizzle and light shifting winds saw the cream rise to the top. Kevin & Brad Pidgeon (7.3) recorded 60.8 to win over John Hollis and Steve Rabone (8.8, 61.3). Jack & Darrin Walden scored scratch 62. A small Single Stableford Comp was run in conjunction with the winner, Brad Weatherstone (12), getting 36 points. Balls went to 62.5. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Nigel Wild (324cm). On the 5th (LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Katoomba) it was Victor Kanjian. Both he and his partner 3-putted from 291cm. Steve Tolhurst, in dense fog, won the SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing 7th hole (610cm). On the 13th(Blue Mountains Escapes) Kevin Pidgeon got to 242cm. On the 14th it was Jack Walden (212cm) and on the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Wal Mockli from Wentworth Falls hit it to 134cm. The Pro-Pin was not won.

MEDLEY

The Friday 9 comp is exploding. This week saw 36 players take on the back nine in the Stableford Event, and 3 players tie on 21 points! John Bromhead was victorious, with Clive home 2nd and Roger Saxton 3rd. Once the days get a bit longer, we will be holding a BBQ at the completion of our Friday comp, with players, their families and friends welcome to come along and enjoy our wonderful club.This comp is a MEDLEY (men and women), winner-takes-all with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
