Blackheath Golf Results - 21st February to 25th February 2018
Wednesday 21st February was the usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Gary Way (19) scored 40 points to win over Clive Woodforth (24) on 39 (OCB). Clive Home (29) combined with Gary to take out the 2BBB with 46 points. Nearest the Pin Awards went to Paul Rowe on the 2nd (690cm) and to Brian Tulloch on the 17th (320cm). Balls went to 35 OCB. We hosted visitors from Wentworth Falls, Penrith and Goondawindi.
Thursday 22nd February was a Single Stableford sponsored by Rhonda Lonergan. The winner was Yvonne Murray (27) 41 over Roslyn Starkey (45) 34. The NTP on the 5th was not won but the Blackheath Vegie Patch sponsored 13th was, by Sandra Draper. Balls went to Yvonne, Ros, Di Pease, Kerry Wynne, Karen Tolhurst, Rhonda the sponsor and Etsuko Saxton.
On Saturday 24th the Club ran a fundraising Gala Day with an 18-hole 4 person single Stableford (best 2 scores per hole). On Sunday 25th a planned 9-hole event was rained out. We had many visitors who supported the Club on the weekend, making it a social and financial success. The best result came from the Men. David Swift, Murray Mehrtens, Dave Glasson, and Peter McAlister amassed 101 points. Best Women were Sandra Draper, Kerry Wynne, Joan Aitken and Roslyn Starkey. There was also a best Visitor’s foursome (apologies for the lack of detail). Lauchie Foulsham and Jack Walden provided tee shots for those willing to pay for them. There was a $1000 prize for a hole in one on the 17th that unfortunately was not won.
On Sunday 25th February our Pennants Teams travelled to Leura for what promised to be an exciting final day of the Round-Robin series. But, fog and rain resulted in the day being called off, to be rescheduled. Yet, the rain was sorely needed.
Our course remains in excellent condition.
