BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 18th October was the usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. We hosted visitors from Wentworth Falls.  Kevin Tooke, absent from the winner's circle for too long, managed that dreamed-of dream of winning. Forty two points playing off 28! The 2BBB winners were Kevin and Joe Landsberg (13) with a massive 50 points. Nearest the Pins were won by Peter Messer on the 5th (980cm) and Jim Walsh on the17th (990cm).

On Saturday 21st October Garry Way and Rob Dempsey sponsored a Single Stableford and 2BBB. We had visitors from Wentworth Falls. Winner was our friendly lawnmower repair man from Hartley, Andrew Lawson with 40 points OCB playing off 9. That announcement made, it has avoided writing Andrew Hartley from Lawson. Runner-up was David Swift who temporarily mastered his usual inconsistency by being consistent. The payoff was 40 points from handicap 27. 4BBB winners were Geoff Cope (11) and Mike Gregg (22) with 45 points. Andrew from Hartley and Jack Walden (2) ran up with 45 points. Then there were masses of pairs with 44 points rueing the putts that missed by whiskers. Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Paul Rowe 33 cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Kevin Pidgeon 260cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Mike Gregg 430cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Ian Foulsham 212cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Ed Foulsham. Ed also managed to win our pro-pin of $245 because he was within 1.5 metres of the pin. What a great day for him, soured only by his brother Lachlan bringing in the best scratch score of 2 over.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Saturday 21st October was a Single Stableford and "Secret Six" event sponsored by Jenny o"Baugh. Sandra draper (28) 32 won the Single Stableford with Marilyn Rowe (36) 30 runner-up. The NTP awards went to Chris Rhind on the 7th and to Sandra on the  Blackheath “Vegie Patch” 13th . Balls were won by Marilyn, Sandra, Chris and Ros Starkey. The winner of the Secret Six is obviously a secret.

The course conditions are now excellent with true greens and lush fairways.
