Once the days get a bit longer, we will be holding a BBQ at the completion of our Friday comp, with players, their families and friends welcome to come along and enjoy our wonderful club. To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 16th August was a Single Stableford sponsored by Louise Aaron. The winner was Karen Tolhurst (33) with 39 points. Runner up was Chris Rhind (28) 37. The Women’s Nearest-the-Pin on the 7th was won by Rhonda Lonergan while the Blackheath Vegie patch-sponsored 13th was won by Di Landsberg. Balls went to 32 and included Karen, Chris, Louise, Rhonda, Carrie Soady, Di Pease, Marilyn Rowe, Yvonne Murray, Barbara Wall and Etsuko Saxton.

Saturday 18th August was a Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Jenny O’Baugh and Cindy Fitzgerald. The winners were Jenny Hall and Rebecca Brown (25.5, 71.5). Runners-up were Sandra Draper and Di Landsberg (20.3, 74.8). Mandy McAlister won the 13th Vegie Patch Nearest-the-Pin and Maree Griffiths won the 5th. Balls went to 77.3 and included Sue Tonkin & Mandy McAlister and A. Morris and Ro Perry.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 15th August was our usual Tee Single Stableford and 2BBB. Michael Mole (12) 38 won the single Stableford with Stephen York (17) runner-up OCB with 35. The 2BBB winners were Stephen York and Walter Mocki (20) with 43 points over Joe Landsberg (9) and Michael Mole on 41 points. Balls went to 31 OCB. Nearest-the Pin prizes went to Adam Preen on the 5th (465cm) and Steve Rabone on the 17th (700cm).

Saturday 18th August was a Single Stableford and 2BBB sponsored by Ben Cameron and Trevor Thomas. It was played in difficult conditions with a blustery, strong SE wind. Peter Messer (16) 37 won OCB over Barry Simpson (10) 37. The 2BBB was won by Paul Rowe (16) and Brian Helps (27) with 45 points. Balls went to 35 points OCB. The Nearest-the-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was John Holmes (240cm). On the 5th (LEADING EDGE COMPUTERS Katoomba) it was Barry Simpson (833cm). Peter Jones won the 7th (SiLLYMiLLY Kid’s Clothing) with a very close 65cm. On the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) Rob Evans got to 462cm. On the 14th it was Paul Rowe (5070cm) and on the 17th, Ben Cameron’s hole, Graham Dowdell hit it to 319cm. The Pro-Pin was not won.

On Fridays our 9-hole Single Stableford Comp that runs all day is getting bigger and bigger. With our largest field yet, Les Tucker won with 23 points! The ever-consistent Wally Sheil was runner up with 21 points. Once the days get a bit longer, we will be holding a BBQ at the completion of our Friday comp, with players, their families and friends welcome to come along and enjoy our wonderful club. This comp is a winner-takes-all with an entrance fee of $5 (plus green fees which are $0 for members). To play, all you need is a marker. Our Pro-Shop can organise you into a game.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
