Blackheath Golf Results - 14th March to 17th March 2018

Our Club Champion for 2018 is Louise Stevenson. Margaret Booth was runner-up.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 14th March was our usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Graham Jones (22) led the way with 40 points winning a $50 voucher. Ray Hawkins (24), absent from the winners’ circle for some time, came runner-up with 39 pts OCB. The 2BBB was won by Graham and Peter White (28) with 48 points. Balls went to 34 OCB. NTP awards were won by Paul Rowe on the 5th (278cm) and Trevor Thomas on the 17th (220cm).

Saturday 17th March was the 3rd round of the Club Championships, held in conjunction a White Course Single Stableford sponsored by Carlos Denoso and Roger Pierce. The winner of the Single Stableford was Roger Saxton (18) 40 followed by Chris Baker (10) 39. NTP awards went to James Robertson at the “Blue Mountains Plantations Shutters and Cabinet Making” second hole (299cm), to Garry Way at the Office Choice Blue Mountains 5th (690cm), to Ian Evans at the “Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan” 7th (156cm), to Ben Cameron at the Blue Mountains Escapes 13th (208cm) and to Steve Rabone at the 15th (164cm).

Sunday was the 4th round of the Club Championships, and it was a tightly contested affair. Nat Foster, the eventual winner and our Club Champion for 2018, was running behind Brent Bones at the half way mark of the last round. The last 9 holes by Nat were steady, whereas Bones had a few bad holes. Such is golf. Nat’s score of 288 ended up 7 strokes clear. Mark Allen won the Vet’s (over 60) with 321. B Grade went to Sam Gray (342) from Peter Bamford (344) who will be ruing a lost ball on the final hole. Peter, however, won the B Grade Nett off a handicap of 14 OCB from Ian Fitzgerald (16). A Grade Nett was awarded to Adan Gronlund (12) with 273. John Still won C Grade by a clear 8 shots over Bob Montgomery.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Our Club Champion for 2018 is Louise Stevenson. Margaret Booth was runner-up.

Thursday 15th March was a Single Stableford sponsored by Rosalie Rolfe. The winner was Sandra Draper (29) with 34 points. Runner-up was Marilyn Rowe (37) with 32. The NTP on the “Blackheath Vegie Patch”- sponsored 13th was won by Maree Griffiths. Balls went to Sandra Draper, Marilyn Rowe, Sue Still, A Morris, Mandy McAlister, Karen Tolhurst, Etsuko Saxton, R. Perry and Helen Rabone.

Saturday 17th March 3rd was a Single Stableford sponsored by Joan Hart. Lyne Pressley (23) won with 40 points over Sandra Draper (27) with 37. Sandra is in the middle of a hot streak, being “there or thereabouts” for a month now. NTP on the 5th was won by Cindy Fitzgerald, and on the “Blackheath Vegie Patch”-sponsored 13th to Rhonda Lonergan. Balls were won by Lynne, Sandra, Carrie Soady, Cindy and Rhonda.

Our course remains in excellent condition.
