The greens are improving after coring, but cold winds occurred. The upside is that the course is now ready for the rigours of the upcoming busy summer schedule, that includes the Legends Pro-Am on Friday 13th October (entries, ring 47875643).

BLACKHEATH LADIESThursday 14th September was a Singles Stableford event sponsored by Helen Rabone. Sanded greens and unhot winds again challenged the players. The winner was Jean Simpson (26) with 34 points, ahead of Rosalie Rolfe (40) with 32. Nearest-to-Pin on the 7th hole was Jocalyn Lawler, who also doubled up by winning on the Vegie Patch 13th. Balls went to Jean, Rosalie, Jocalyn, Carrie Soady, Chris Rhind, Karen Tolhurst, Yvonne Murray, Rhonda Lonergan and Di Pease.

Saturday 16th September was a Par event sponsored by Yvonne Murray. The winner was Louise Aaron (33) 32 with runner-up Chris Rhind (28) 32. The Nearest-to-Pin Blackheath Vegie Patch sponsored 13th hole was won by Yvonne Murray. Balls went to Louise, Chris, Yvonne, Di Pease and Rhonda Lonergan.

BLACKHEATH MEN … Wednesday 13th September saw the men’s midweek competition played in difficult, but improving, conditions at the Blue Mountains’ premier course. The winner of the Singles Stableford event and a $45 voucher was Richard Soady (25) 38 pts. Peter Bamford (14) combined with Richard to win the 2BBB with 45 pts. Steve Rabone won the 17th NTP (352cm), pipping Beau Flaherty's 360cm.  The greens are improving after coring, but cold winds occurred. The upside is that the course is now ready for the rigours of the upcoming busy summer schedule, that includes the Legends Pro-Am on Friday 13th October (entries, ring 47875643).

With Spring just around the corner, a reminder that our monthly “TIGER TEE” event will start on the last Wednesday in September. From then on, the course will be set up with a greater degree of difficulty for great prizes on the last Wednesday of every month throughout the daylight saving period. Entry will be  only $20 for a chance at some great prizes.

Saturday 16th September … was a Single Stableford and 2B aggregate sponsored again by Graham and Tara Dowdell. Good weather with easing winds saw Ben Cameron (13) 39  pip a packed leaderboard. Ben was a popular winner. He sponsors prizes for the 17th NTP. John Grant (18) and David Brown (19) won the aggregate event with 73 points. Not-young timers Alwyn Yard and Mick Strong were close behind.

The Nearest-to-Pin winner on the second (sponsor: Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters & Cabinet Making) was Paul Rowe (20cm) who was still talking about the shot at Sunday's 4.45pm (relaxed) Trivia at the Club. His index fingers are now only 5cm apart!  On the 5th  (Office Choice Blue Mountains) John Grant won (392cm), on the 7th  (Paul & Gabrielle Loneragan) was Carlos Denoso (194cm), on the 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes) was Geoff Hilder (226cm), on the 14th Jim Walsh (392cm) and on Ben Cameron's 17th hole, David Jones (120cm). Since David's shot was within 150cm, he won the Pro-Pin, valued at over $200. John Holmes picked the wrong day to get 140cm from the hole. Balls went to 35 Stableford points.
