BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 11th October was the usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. We hosted visitors from Leura and Wentworth Falls. Patrick Kenny, returning from a layoff, won the event with 40 points off 19 hcp. Stephen Delprado (12) was runner-up OCB. The 2BBB winners were Shane Murphy (5) and Ray Stanford (35) with a massive 50 points. 4B runners up were Don Griffith (23) and Shane Murphy (5) with 47 points. Nearest the Pin on the 5th was Peter Messer (66cm) and on the 17th, Barry Simpson (60cm).

On Friday 13th October, ICF Haulage sponsored our annual Legends Pro-Am. The weather and the course were brilliant! The winners were Allan May and Guy Wall, who both shot 66. The event was highly successful, being followed by a dinner where Roger Davis, our new Club Patron, delighted us with golfing anecdotes.

On Saturday 14th October the Jack Burrows Memorial was played. This is a medley event honouring Jack’s contribution to our Club over 3 decades. His family, to whom the Club means so much, sponsor the event. The weather was difficult due to fog and drizzle, but tempered by the knowledge that rain has been overdue. The winners of the Single Stableford events were Ian Foulsham (20) 38 and Marie Griffiths (29) 30. The 2 person stableford multiplier was won by Lachlan Cullen (33) and Angus Cullen (31) with a score of 75. The Junior winner was Jacob Cullen (33) 36. The Cullens are Jack's great grandchildren, and have benefited from the Junior Program at Wentworth Falls. It was a pleasure seeing them enjoy their great grandfather's day at Blackheath. Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Ian Foulsham 48cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Roger Pierce 344cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Andrew Lawson 394cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Marie Griffiths 38cm. 14th hole, Adam Gronlund 162cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Peter Cullen 215cm. We held a "straight drive" competition on the 9th. David Cullen won the men's comp and Di Landsberg won the women's.

BLACKHEATH LADIES

Thursday 12 October was a single Stableford sponsored by Barbara Wall. Winner was Marilyn Rowe (35) 37 over Karen Tolhurst (34) 34. Nearest the Pin Awards went to Carrie Soady at the Blackheath “Vegie Patch” 13th and to Chris Rhind at the 17th. Balls were won by Marilyn, Karen, Trish Honeysett, Chris Rhind, Etsuko Saxton, Joan Aitken and Carrie Soady. On Saturday the 14th, the Women played in the Medley Jack Burrows Memorial.
