Next week the Men compete in a Single Stableford & 2BBB sponsored by Geoff Hilder and Jim Walsh. The Women continue their Summer Comp.

Wednesday 10th January was our weekly Single Stableford and 2BBB, with $140 in prizes We had visitors from Pennant Hills and Royal Qld. Roger Pierce (16) won the Single Stableford with 43 points, followed by Trevor Thomas (6) with 39. 2BBB winners were John (27) and Josh (12) Navybox with 46 points. Balls went to 34 OCB. NTP awards went to Pat Kenny on the 5th (226cm) and Steve Caswell on the 17th (300cm.

On Saturday 6th December was the Summer Cup, one of our oldest trophies, dating back to 1924, the first year golf was played on the current site on Brightlands Ave/ Valley View Rd. It is also the first leg of our 4 Seasons Cup, run over four legs to test golfers in changing climates over the year. Last year's worthy Summer Cup defending Champion, Murray Patterson of Wentworth Falls, was there to defend his title, but, like many in the field, came undone on a difficult day with strong and gusty westerly winds. Jack Walden won the Cup, a scratch vs Par event, with a commendable -4 off zero handicap. Runner-up was Barry Simpson with -8 off 10 handicap. There were also nett competitions in 3 grades. Kit Newcombe (9) won A Grade with +5 with runner up Bruce Ranse (12) +2. B Grade was Joe Landsberg (13) +4 then Martin Green (13) +3. C Grade was Peter Johnson (312) +4 followed by Rua Kenny (23) +1. There was $500 in prizemoney.

Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Roger Pierce 139cm. 5th hole sponsored by Office Choice Blue Mountains, Darryl Gawthorpe 395cm. 7th hole sponsored by Paul and Gabrielle Loneragan, Adam Gronlund 210cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Noel Daly 200cm. 14th hole, Chris Baker 320cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Don Griffith 360cm. The 17th Pro-Pin was not won, so will jackpot next week. Balls went to -1 OCB.

Next week the Men compete in a Single Stableford & 2BBB sponsored by Geoff Hilder and Jim Walsh. The Women continue their Summer Comp.

Course conditions remain excellent with true greens and lush fairways.
