The wellbeing needs of high school students have drastically increased throughout the 21st century, particularly in recent years. Blue Mountains Grammar School is leading the way with innovative wellbeing programs and has recently announced their latest development, a Student Centre focused on wellbeing and student services to be completed on the Wentworth Falls Senior School campus.

This new Centre will offer a place where students can go to relax, study and seek assistance. The Student Centre will not only provide practical solutions to a need for more indoor study spaces and chill out zones but will also provide a safe and comfortable space for interactions between students and both learning enrichment educators and key pastoral and wellbeing staff.

“I think the Student Centre shows BMGS’s commitment to the student’s whole wellbeing” – Kate Klein, Parent

Construction of the Centre will commence in July and is anticipated to be operational in Term 1 next year. Features will include specialist study areas and breakout rooms and a purpose-built casual hub for students to use during study sessions, lesson breaks and meal breaks. This is the largest building project undertaken at Blue Mountains Grammar School since the Performing Arts Centre was opened in 2012. It will ensure that the School can continue to offer superb facilities to our students for generations to come.

On Wednesday 5th May, Blue Mountains Grammar School will be raising funds to dress the interior of the Centre. The BMGS Giving Day will be a 24 hour campaign and every dollar donated will be tripled by a generous benefactor.

“We are so excited to have a space dedicated just for us. It will allow us to complete independent study in a great environment as well as relax and access assistance.” – School Captains Tom Delaney and Mirah Larkin, who feature in a video launching this development (below).

Student wellbeing is at the forefront of Blue Mountain Grammar School’s values and this redevelopment will accommodate the needs of an ever-growing Senior School population into the future.
