Portland Art Show set to go ahead on the first weekend in March
One of the highlights of the social calendar in the small town has always been the opening night celebration, which this year has been cancelled due to the restrictions of putting on a COVID safe event.
The exhibition over the weekend will be on as normal, with doors opening on Saturday at 10am-5pm, and Sunday from 10am-4pm.
Entry numbers were slightly down on previous years but with well over 300 artworks entered it will still be one of the biggest annual art exhibitions in the region.
The guest artist this year is Frank Hodgert who has been exhibiting in the annual exhibition for a number of years and has always been a crowd favourite.
Based in Glenmore Park, Frank spends a lot of time in the areas surrounding Portland and has painted a number of Portland streetscapes over the years along with landscapes of the surrounding natural beauty, in both watercolour and oils.
