New Youth Drop-in Space
A crowd of young people attended the first drop in at Hometown Café on 23 February. There were plenty of musicians who came for a jam, an artist’s corner for sketching and a delicious afternoon tea, all provided completely free. The Drop in Space will be held every Tuesday during school term at Hometown Café from 3:30pm. Come along any Tuesday, bring your instruments, your art equipment or just yourself and your mates.
“We really appreciate the young people in our community and the passion they bring to Lithgow. The new drop in space will give an opportunity to collaborate with other artists and musicians, as well as a place to just hang out,” said Lithgow City Council Mayor Ray Thompson.
With funding from the federal government’s Bushfire Recovery Fund, the space will be open to young people from 12-17 years. There’s no need to book and afternoon tea will be provided. There will be artists and musicians as well as board games. Covid Safe measures will be in place.
