Blue Mountains Library Assistant Linda Kirkpatrick logs onto Beamafilm.
Blue Mountains Library has partnered with Beamafilms to offer library members free viewing of hundreds of the best Australian and independent movies, documentaries and festival favourites.

Library members can stream movies from home on any internet-connected device, using their Blue Mountains Library card number to log in to the Beamafilm website.

Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “Our libraries offering residents free access to the best of Australian and international movies and documentaries, enhances the extensive range of services already on offer.

“Our Libraries provide so many innovative, entertaining and educational services to the Blue Mountains’ community and partnering with Beamafilm combines all three. Whether you check out the latest release, or rediscover an old favourite, I hope every Library member enjoys using this convenient service.”

Beamafilm is Australia’s premium movie streaming channel with an outstanding collection of Australian film favourites, award-winners, independent features, documentaries and classic movies.

Beamafilm champions Australian filmmaking to library patrons around the country. While mainstream movie streaming platforms offer less than 2% of Australian content, Beamafilm’s unique catalogue of more than 750 independent films, features over 35% Australian content.

Fifty-two per cent of Blue Mountains’ residents are library users. This is above the state average of 41%. Blue Mountains Libraries had more than 450,400 visitors in 2018/19.
