What’s your Plan B? If you’re drinking don’t drive.
Plan B is a state-wide initiative encouraging patrons to think about alternatives to driving home, after a night out.
Local Government Areas in Western NSW have been running this project for the past 5 years with over 300 venues involved. Now it is the Blue Mountains turn to join in and promote the Plan B message, to reduce drink driving.
Twenty-two licenced venues and liquor stores across the Blue Mountains are taking part, with the support of the Blue Mountains Liquor Accord and Transport for NSW.
The promotion runs until 31 December 2020, with winners drawn at each participating venue on New Year’s Eve.
The Plan B ‘Win a Swag’ competition reinforces the Plan B message that there is always an alternative to drink driving.
Mayor Mark Greenhill said: “When you plan your night out, make sure you plan how to get home safely, too. Share your Plan B with your friends and hold each other to those plans. Your Plan B can be a cab, or staying at a friend’s place. Think about your Plan B and never choose to drink and drive.”
“It is especially important to plan your night out in regional areas as there are fewer options for public transport.”
Drink driving is one of the biggest causes of death and injury on NSW roads.
