As the weather cools down for the arrival of another glorious Autumn, we are heating up at PP&VA with stacks of fun theatre for both adults and children, school holiday workshops, music of all kinds and community programs making their way into the month of April.

Join us for the joyous, sexy and heartbreaking I Want To Know What Love Is on Saturday 6 April for a thrilling production created from 800 anonymously submitted love letters. Anyone who's ever loved, anyone who's ever hurt - this is for you.

In a new community focused initiative, look out for Homeland, running over three consecutive dates from 4 - 15 April and curated by Vonne Patiag as part of the Long Table. Curated by leaders from our local First Nations, CALD & LGBTQI+ communities, Long Table is an opportunity for communities to gather and connect with Q Theatre and each other in a range of workshops, play readings and discussions.

To celebrate World Voice Day on 6 April, we have an exciting program lined up dedicated to all things voice. The Joan will host a unique Voice Masterclass presented by the Australian Voice Association and Australian Dysphonia Network that is perfect for singing and drama teachers, students and performers. Following the Masterclass, the annual Voices in the Valley will showcase the highly acclaimed Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir, ‘Gia’ (Yianna Nicholas) and a spectacular line up of outstanding vocal talent, hosted by Australia’s Funny Man – Anthony Ackroyd. If voice is your thing, then make sure you also check out the outstanding 40-piece Male Welsh Choir on 5 April!

For kids - the much-loved story book, Possum Magic, is making it's way onto the stage on April 9 & 10  for a fantastic new show that brings to life the characters, journey and love that has made Mem Fox's Possum Magic the most-loved and best-selling Australian picture book of all time.

For children and their parents there is a stack of Visual Arts programs and School Holiday Workshops this Autumn over at Penrith Regional Gallery. There are over 5 different workshops spanning the two weeks for children aged up to 12, starting at 10am and themed around current exhibitions. From painting and drawing, to animation, to clay modelling and mixed material sculpting; there is really something for everyone!

Launching on 30 March and running through till June, is Penrith Regional Gallery's Autumn Exhibiton Suite, Marriage Love + Law. There will be a special Curator Floor Talk on 14 April with Dr Penny Stannard, NSW State Archives Senior Curator, where participants will have an intimate and informative opportunity to explore the centuries-old archives and newly commissioned work inspired by the institution of Marriage that spans over three centuries.
