The National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is advising visitors to check conditions before travelling to the Glow Worm Tunnel, Newnes and Deep Pass areas in Wollemi National Park, as recent weather has prompted temporary closures for public safety.

Glow Worm Tunnel Road from Bungleboori Picnic Area in Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area (SCA) is closed to all vehicles due to wet slippery road conditions. This road provides access to several key locations within Wollemi National Park including Deep Pass, Glow Worm Tunnel and other areas on the Newnes plateau.

There is no access to Deep Pass or the Old Coach Road car park in Wollemi National Park. Walking access is still available to the Newnes camping area by the pipeline track from the Glen Davis / Coorongooba camping area.

Lost City South walking track and access to Maiyiangu Marragu and Sunnyside Ridge remains open.

The road will be reassessed later this week and will reopen once it’s safe to do so.

For more information, please contact Kanangra Area office on phone 02 6336 6200 or npws.kanangra@environment.nsw.gov.au.
