Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of NSW, and her husband, Mr Dennis Wilson, this week visited Blue Mountains Cultural Centre to tour the exhibitions and meet with local artists.

The Governor and Mr Wilson were taken on a curator-led tour of the galleries, viewing the exhibitionsNgurra Bayala (Country speaks), forage: symbiotic (trans)formations, andBlue Mountains Portraits 2025.

During the tour, The Governor and Mr Wilson spoke with exhibiting artists to learn more about their works.

The tour was followed by an afternoon tea, where the couple met with staff and volunteers to discuss the activities and achievements of the Cultural Centre and the Blue Mountains arts community.

“As the state’s inaugural City of the Arts, the Blue Mountains has a thriving arts community and it was an honour to show the diverse range of talent in our region to Her Excellency and Mr Wilson,” Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill said.

“Both have a strong interest in the arts and appreciated meeting our local artists, who explained the creative process and inspiration behind the works currently being exhibited at the Cultural Centre.

“I thank Her Excellency and Mr Wilson for their visit and would encourage everyone with a similar interest in the arts to visit the Cultural Centre for themselves.”

Ngurra Bayala (Country speaks) continues to December 2025, and forage: symbiotic (trans)formations and Blue Mountains Portraits 2025will be on exhibition to 13 April.
