Unleash Your Inner Scientist! Join the Jenolan Caves BioBlitz!
Your big chance to unleash your inner wildlife scientist has arrived! From November 23 to 25, Jenolan Caves, in partnership Kanangra-Boyd to Wyangala Link (K2W), is hosting the Jenolan Caves BioBlitz - a 48 hour marathon of expert-led flora and fauna surveys. You can join in and search for what lives both above and inside the caves.
The weekend is part of a growing 'Citizen Science' movement, where every-day Aussies work alongside scientists to grow our knowledge of native plants and animals. Data that you collect is added to the public record and used to plan future conservation projects.
The program includes:
- Wildlife walks & talks (above and below ground)
- Cultural heritage talks
- Kids activities
- Interactive stalls
- Botanical drawing workshops
- Spotlighting.
Have fun, increase knowledge of wildlife, habitats and ecology and develop skills in wildlife identification and recording.
Anyone is welcome to join in, whether it’s for an evening, a day or the whole weekend.
You might even discover a new species! Put this event in your calendar!
