The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) said it was disappointing to see facilities needed and appreciated by the visiting public senselessly damaged.

During the week vandals kicked in the door of the accessible toilet, breaking the locking mechanism. There was an also an attempt to remove the support handle from the wall.

The sign was also ripped off the door of the second toilet.

The incident has been reported to police.

NPWS was making repairs to the facility on Friday to ensure the toilet block was available for weekend visitors.

The toilet block was recently built as part of a $4.3 million upgrade for the popular precinct.

The Glow Worm Tunnel precinct remains open however all visitors should check the alerts notifications on the NPWS website before visiting for the latest information.
