With the Autumn school holidays just around the corner, Blue Mountains City Council has released an engaging new video which highlights the wonders of the Katoomba Falls precinct by day -and night.

Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill said; “Autumn is arguably one of the most stunning times to visit the Blue Mountains and no trip to the region is complete without experiencing the incredible sights and sounds of the Katoomba Night-lit Walk, which are simply breathtaking and can be enjoyed by visitors of any age”.

Visitors can begin the 1.3km walk at dusk and view magnificent sunset vistas as they walk along the footpaths. Then, as night falls, thirteen spotlights highlight outstanding natural features such as Orphan Rock, Witches Leap, Katoomba Falls and Katoomba Cascadeswhile another 390 individual lights illuminate the footpaths.

At certain vantage points you can also see the Three Sisters lit up.

The experience also connects other previously lit areas and includes lighting from the top of the Katoomba Falls Kiosk car park, around Reid’s Plateau and down to the Duke and Duchess Lookout.

The Katoomba Falls Night-lit Walk was first launched by Blue Mountains City Council in February 2021 and it has been delighting thousands of visitors ever since.

The walk is free, with lights coming on at dusk and remaining on until 10.30pm.
