Talented Young Choir from the Blue Mountains Hoping for Another Year Of Success at National Competition
They are one of only two school-aged groups from NSW to be offered a place on the national stage! So, they are heading to Melbourne in September and are very proud to be representing the Blue Mountains at this prestigious event.
Amelia Nell, Director at Vocalocity, is a contemporary singing teacher and Vocalocity is her studio based in Leura where she teaches both private and group singing lessons. She has aimed to create an engaging, happy, supportive and relaxed atmosphere at her studio, and it is always her hope that her clients leave their lessons with a smile on their face, saying "that was FUN!".
Her motto at Vocalocity is "Individuality. Creativity. Passion."
Amelia is forever looking for opportunities for Vocalocity singers that branch beyond the studio and into the community. They have performed in Leura Mall numerous times for the Leura Village Fair and Christmas events, and participated in the Katoomba Live & Local Music Festival and they are doing a charity performance for the upcoming benefit concert next Sunday 19th August for the Stop The Traffik organisation.
To enable all their singers to attend AUSACA, they are in the midst of organising several fundraising initiatives to help cover the cost of the trip to Melbourne.
"We already have some plans in motion, including sausage sizzles at Bunnings Katoomba on Sunday 19 and Sunday 26 August, where the group will perform at 11am, and a raffle of prizes generously donated by local businesses," Amelia said.
"This endeavour is a not-for-profit venture as all money raised will go towards the Melbourne trip for travel and accommodation. There is no prize money involved in AUSACA, but just the most incredible experience for our young singers!"
Keep an eye out for Vocalocity Vocal Ensemble fundraising events.
