Statement from Minister for Education and Training Simon Birmingham
“Our plan supports families that need it the most by better targeting subsidies to people earning the least and to families working the most.
“With an additional $2.5 billion invested to support families, the package will benefit nearly one million families and encourage more than 230,000 families to increase their workforce participation.
“Are Labor saying they want more taxpayer subsidised child care for families who aren’t working, studying, volunteering or even bothering to look for a job?
“Since 7 June last year, Australian families have been able to access our online child care estimator so they can see exactly how our reforms will impact them and their household budgets.
“I encourage families to visit our estimator so they can see exactly what our changes mean for them.”
