Blackheath Golf and Community club proudly played host to the 2025 JNJG junior Blue Mountains Masters golf Championship played over the weekend of the 22^nd and 23^rd February.The weather was wonderful and around 110 junior golfers from across New South Wales and the A.C.T made the trip to compete in the Blue Mountains Junior Masters.

Many of the state’s top juniors were in attendance including in the Girl’s division the young gun duo of Mingming Lee and Tsawm Laphaiand in the Boys division was Blake Jones who was named to represent the A.C.T in the Junior State Team. Levi Park was a strong contender to go back to back in the Junior Masters Series after winning the 2025 WaggaWagga event.Central Coast’s Shaylan Bennett had also been in top form after making the cut at this years NSW Amateur with a two-round score of 4 under par. Bennett won the Shelley Beach Junior Master in 2024 and was looking to get a second Junior Masters title under his belt.

At the completion of the 2 days and 2 rounds around the beautiful layout it was Shaylan Bennett from everglades Golf Club who prevailed in the Boys Division with -7 adding a second Junior Masters Title to his resume. In the Girls Division it was a three-way playoff between Mingming Lee from Monash, Sia Taylor from Royal Canberra Golf Club and Jia You from Ryde-Parramatta golf club all finishing on +5 Mingming Lee won the title on the first playoff hole. Blackheath Junior Tom Curtis (9) also shot a great round playing in his first Jack Newton event on day 2… his round included 7 birdies to finish with 71 and nett 62.Many thanks to Daniel and his team from JNJG and the clubs pros in Darrin and Jack Walden and the myriad of club volunteers.
