Next week is our Mixed Foursomes Championship.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 9th January was our usual Single Stableford and 2BBB combined with a 3-Club Single Stableford Event. Karl Munchow (16) won the Single Stableford with 39 points and the 2BBB winners were Larry Manning and Stewart Brown (12) with 48 points. The 3-Club Event was won by Ray Stanford (36) with 34 points OCB over Matt Windsor (21). Balls went to 33 points in the Single Stableford and 30 points in the 3-Club Event. Nearest the Pin prizes went to Mark Allen on the 5th (300cm) and Michael Mole on the 17th (280cm).

Saturday 12th January was the Summer Cup (Open Event), which dates back to 1924. It is also the first leg of the 4 Seasons Cup. It is a Par Event, sponsored by Martin Green. Paul Sebbens of Leura (6) won the Cup with +6. Runner-up was Jonathan Van Veen (4) 3 down.  Grade Nett winner was Gary Lenson (1), +3 over Mark Allen (9) +2. B Grade went to Andrew Komma (15) +3 with Carlos Denoso (13) 2nd (+2). C Grade was won by Harry Stinson (20) +1 OCB over Rod Welsh (20). Balls went to square OCB. Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Joe Landsberg 98cm. 5th hole sponsored by Leading Edge Computers, Katoomba, Joe again, 467cm. 7th hole sponsored SiLLY MiLLY Kids Clothing,  Stuart Brown 88cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Brent Bones. 20cm. 14th hole sponsored by Scully Legal, Mark Allen 64cm. Our 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, was finally won by Ben himself, with a shot to 179cm.

Blackheath Women

The Women’s Summer Comp continues. Saturday’s winner was Margaret Booth (12,30)

Next week is our Mixed Foursomes Championship. A Single Stableford will be run as well.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
