Blackheath Men…Wednesday 7th April was Midweek time at the Mountains Top Course. The winner of the Single event was Stuart Brown (11) with 39 points picking up a $40 voucher ahead of Peter Messer (18) with 36 points on a countback picking up a $20 voucher. The 2Ball aggregate winners were Stuart Brown (11) and Paul Jones (18) with 72 points picking up a $30 voucher each. Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Stuart Brown at 290 cms and on the 17th to Grahame Phillips at 270 cms. Balls went to 33 points on a countback. Remember for a crack at the mountain’s best midweek call Darrin on 47875643.

Saturday 10th April was Royal Blackheath Day a medley Stroke event which entails three trophies…the Gentleman winner, the lady winner and the winners of the Hawkins and Sanderson Trophy. Coincidentally the affable gentlemen who sponsor the event are namesakes of a previous President and Captain of Royal Blackheath namely,Ray Hawkins and Roger Sanderson.The winner of the Men’s Trophy was Phil Binskin (21) with 64 nett also winning the C grade Medal. The winner of the Ladies Trophy was Di Pease (26) with 76 nett and the winners of the Hawkins and Sanderson Trophy were Stuart Brown and Kel Lampton. The A grade Medal went to Carlos Donoso (8) with 66 nett and the B grade Medal went to Captain Brian Tulloch (18) with 66 nett also winning the playoff for the March Medal.The Single Stableford went to David Pope (17) with 37 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR sponsored 2nd hole went to Gordon Stovold at 695 cms, on the Leading Edge Computer sponsored 5th to Lousea Johnston at 547 cms, on the Monocure 3D sponsored 7th to Karl Munchow at 209 cms,on the Victor Kanjian sponsored 13th to Roger Pierce at 411 cms,on the Ken Scully sponsored 14th to Jim O’Keefe at 231 cms and on the Ben Cameron OneFiveFive 17th to John VanVeen at 174 cms . Balls in the Stableford went to 31 points and to 70 nett in the Medal. Next Saturday the men play a Medley Single Stableford sponsored by Steve Tolhurst.

Blackheath Ladies… Thursday 8th April was a 2 Person Ambrose sponsored by Helen Rabone and Camilla Brown. The winners were Rhonda Lonergan and Jean Simpson playing off 12 and finishing with 71 nett on a countback from Mandy McAlister and Ros Allen playing off 17 and also finishing on 71 nett. Nearest the pin on the Loneragan Family sponsored 2nd went to Mandy McAlister, on the 7th to Dorelle Pinch also picking up the propin of $295 and on the 13th to Mandy McAlister. Balls went to 73 nett. Next Thursday the ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Yvonne Murray and on Saturday the ladies play a 2 Person Ambrose sponsored by Susie Tonkin and Judy Grieve.
