Blackheath Golf Results - Wednesday 6th Oct to Sat 9th Oct
Blackheath Men…Wednesday 6th October was the usual Single Stableford and 2 Ball Aggregate at the top course on the Mountains. The winner of the Single event was Jim Walsh (16) with 39 points picking up a $40 Pro shop voucher. The Runners up were Mark Ihm (13) Rebecca Larkin (29) and Roger Saxton (12) all finishing with 37 points and picking up a $10 Pro shop voucher each. The 2 Ball Aggregate went to Jim O’Keefe (9) with 39 points and Steve Caswell (12) with 33 points an aggregate of 72 points picking up a $40 Pro shop voucher each. Balls went to 33 points. The Wednesday competition is going from strength to strength with great fields so either book online or call Darrin or Jack on 47875643. The course is starting to look lush and green with the advent of Spring and we wait in anticipation for the 3 new holes opening around November.
Saturday 9th October was a Single Stableford and 2 Ball Multiplier sponsored by Lynne Pressley and Geoff Cope. The winner of the Single event was Rob Dempsey (8) with another great round of 44 points.The winner of the Ladies Single event was Sarah Gardner (30) with 40 points. The 2 Ball Multiplier went to Jim O’Keefe (9) and Michael Unsworth (11) with 85 points ahead of Ben Cameron (7) and Roger Saxton (13) with 77 points on a countback. Balls went to 35 points. Next Saturday the Ladies and Men play a Single Stableford and Irish Team Stableford in conjunction.
Blackheath Ladies…Monday 4th October was the Ladies 9 hole competition with some great numbers now playing and enjoying the Spring weather. The winner was Sarah Gardner (29) with 21 points ahead of Lynn Siebels (41) and Ros Allen (40) with 19 points. All Lady members are welcome as long as you have an AGU handicap.
Thursday 7th October was a Stroke event for a Club Medal or a Single Stableford for those not wishing to play the Stroke event. The winner of the Stroke event was Young Do (28) with a fine 62 nett ahead of Sandra Draper (26) with a 66 nett. Balls went to 72 nett. The winner of the Single Stableford was Ros Allen (40) with 35 points ahead of Virginia Hurst (25) on 32 points with balls going to 28 points. Next Thursday the Ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Helen Rabone.
