BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 6th March was a 2BBB Stableford and Singles. Tony Smith (14) won the Singles with 38 points, Runner-up was Michael Strong (31) with 36 on c/b. The 2B winners were Barry Simpson (9) and Murray Mehrtens (24) with 44 points, Don Griffith (24) and Stuart Brown (13) ran a close 2nd with 43 on c/b. NTP’s went to Dave Birrell on the 5th hole at 423 cm, and Carlos Donoso on 17 at 650 cm.Balls to 34 on c/b.

Saturday 9th March saw the 2nd round of the Club Championships with a white course Single Stableford in conjunction, with generous sponsorship by The 3 Tenors and Ossie Antaw.

Winner on the day was Monty Van Veen (34) with a great score of 61 Nett, Runner-up went to Paul Cinat (17) with 66 on countback. Scratch winner, topping off  a good day for the family, was John  Van Veen (4) with 71. John Wilson (25) was victorious in the Stableford with 41 points.

Saturday’s nearest the pins and sponsors are as follows, 2nd (Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinetmaking), Ossie Antaw at 180 cm, 5th (Office Choice Blue Mountains), Greg Nankervis at 285 cm, 7th (Silly Milly Kids Clothing), Brent Bones at 240 cm, 13th (Blue Mountains Escapes), Jason Duke at 104 cm, 14th (Scully Legal), Jason Duke at 356 cm and on the 17th (Ben Cameron), John Wilson came up trumps with a great shot to 81 cm which also won him the Pro Pin. Balls went to Nett 70 in the Stroke and 35 in the Stableford.

BLACKHEATH WOMEN

Thursday 7th March was a Single Stableford sponsored by Kerry Wynne, Winner on the day was Lynne Richardson (45) with 39 points, well played. Runner-up going to Anne Morris (36) with 32. Nearest the pin on the 2nd (G and P Loneragan) went to Yvonne Murray, winner of the Pro Pin was Lesley Robinson at 150 cm, Vegie Patch Hole 13 went to Etsuko Saxon.

Saturday  9th March, The women also held the 2nd round of the Club Championships, Maree Griffiths was the trophy donor. Roz Starkey (45) won the day with 70 Nett, Yvonne Murray (25) came in 2nd with 71. Margaret Booth (11) was again the Scratch winner with 86. Ntp’s went to Margaret Booth on the 5th (G and P Loneragan) and on the 7th, Roz Starkey was the closest. Cindy Fitzgerald won the Vegie Patch Hole 13 again and Louise Aaron took out the putting with 31.

MEDLEY

9 Hole Friday competition was won by Greg Nankervis (snr) playing off 17 and scoring 18 points, Mike Mole (5) came in 2nd with 17. This competition is open to anyone with a GA handicap so contact Darrin’s friendly Pro Shop on 47875643 for entry or any other golfing needs.
