Blackheath Golf Results - Wednesday 3rd March to Saturday 6th March 2021

Blackheath Men…Wednesday 3rd March was  time again for the Mountains premier midweek event. The winner was Paul Mahony (19) with 41 points on a countback from Tim Alderson (5) also on 41 points. The 2BBB went to father and son combination of Paul Mahony and John Mahony with a great 50 points.Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Matthew Robinson at 220 cms and on the Steve Tolhurst sponsored 17th to Brett Daly at 120 cms. Balls went to 33 points on a countback. Remember we always welcome visitors and to get a start on Wednesdays call Darrin on 47875643.

Saturday 6th March was a Stroke event for the March Medal and a Single Stableford for those not wishing to participate in the stroke event. The winner of the A grade Medal was Carlos Donoso (10) with a great round of 63 nett. The B grade Medal went to James Robertson (18) with an equally great round of 61 nett while the C grade medal will entail a play off in April between President Ian Foulsham (20) and Captain Brian Tulloch (19) both having 65 nett. The Single Stableford went to Greg McDonald (15) with 41 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment  sponsored 2nd went to Ian Evans at 154 cms, on the Leading edge Computer sponsored 5th to Ian Griffiths at 215 cms, on the Monocure 3D sponsored 7th to Warren Golf Club visitor Warren Lefebvre,on the Victor Kanjian sponsored 13th to James Robertson at 704 cms, on the Ken Scully sponsored 14th to Christo Macartney at 88 cms and on the Ben Cameron OneFiveFive sponsored 17th to Brad Evans at 441 cms.Balls went to 67 nett on a countback and in the stableford to 35 points. Next Saturday the men play a Medley 2BBB and Single Stableford sponsored by Geoff Hilder and Jim Walsh.

Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 4th March was Round 2 of the 2021 Ladies Foursomes Championships, played over 36 holes the winners and ladies Foursomes  Champions were Cindy Fitzgerald and Louise Stevenson playing off 13 and finishing with an aggregate scratch score of 163 ahead of Margaret Booth and Lynne Pressley playing off 15 and finishing with 173. The handicap winners were Carrie Soady and Di Pease off 24 and finishing with 142 nett ahead of Joan Hart and Chris Rhind off 33 and finishing with 148 nett. Next Thursday the ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Kerry Wynne.

Saturday 6th March was Rd 1 of the ladies 2021 Club Championships. The winner of day 1 was Louise Stevenson (9) with 65 nett and a scratch score of 74 ahead of Rhonda Lonergan (22) with 67 nett and a scratch score of 89. Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Margaret Booth, on the 7th to Lynne Pressley also picking up the propin, on the G&P Loneragan sponsored 13th to Cindy Fitzgerald and on the New Age Kitchen sponsored 17th to Margaret Booth. Rhonda Lonergan won the putting with 24 putts. Balls went to 74 nett. Next Saturday the ladies play Rd 2 of the Club Championships.
