Blackheath Golf Results - Wednesday 31st March to Saturday 3rd April 2021
Blackheath Men…Wednesday 31st March was Midweek time again at the Mountain’s top course. The winner of the single event was Shane Murphy (2) with a fine 38 point picking up a $40 voucher.The 2BBB went to Wayne Clayton (17) and Hamish Rynehart (13) with 45 points picking up a $20 voucher each. Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Matt Windsor at 406 cms and balls went to 34 points. Finally the course is becoming more playable after the record breaking wet spell and welcomes visitors for the best midweek competition at the top of the hill. To book call Darrin on 47875643.
Saturday 3rd April was the Super 6 weekend with 6 holes being played as Canadian Foursomes,the next 6 are played as Ambrose and the last 6 are played as 2BBB sponsored by Al Campbell and Rebecca Brown.The winners were the husband and wife team of Roz and Mark Allen playing off a combined handicap of 25 and finishing with 52 nett ahead of Phillip and Michael Binskin playing off 16 and finishing with 54 nett. The single Stableford was won by Pat Kenny (17) with 39 points. Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing Equipment sponsored 2nd hole went to Steve Tolhurst at an eyewatering 4 cms from the hole, on the Monocure 3D sponsored 7th an “ACE” was achieved by Phill Paull with a hole in one, on the Victor Kanjian sponsored 13th to Mick Lonergan at 155 cms, on the Ben Cameron sponsored 17th to Sam Gray at 70 cms also picking up the propin. The best second shot on the 12th went to John Bromhead at 160 cms and for the ladies the best 2nd shot on the 14th went to Cindy Fitzgerald at 260 cms. Balls went to 59.5 in the Sixes and to 34 points in the Stableford. The Putting Challenge on the 9th went to Rhonda Lonergan. Next Saturday is the Medley Royal Blackheath Day which is an old traditional day celebrating the link between Englands oldest club ..Royal Blackheath and our own Blackheath Golf and Community Club.
Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 1st April was a Single Stableford sponsored by Judith Sutton and Joan Fitzhenry. The winner was Etsuko Saxton (35)with 32 points ahead of Sandra Draper (31) with 31 points on a countback. Nearest the pin on the 17th went to Di Pease and balls went down to 22 points on a countback.The current sunny weather should have the course back to it’s best within the next few weeks. Next Thursday the ladies play a 2 Person Ambrose sponsored by Helen Rabone and Camilla Brown.
