Blackheath Golf Results Wednesday 2nd January - Saturday 5th January 2019

Next week is the first leg of our Four Seasons Cup, the Summer Cup, a scratch vs Par Event with a 95-year history. This is a prestigious Open Event where all players from all areas are welcome.

Our Women continue their Summer Comp.

BLACKHEATH MEN

Wednesday 2nd January was our usual Single Stableford and 2BBB. Ian Griffiths (9) won with 43 points over Andrew Price (21) with 41. Graham Dowdell (7) and Mick Hillier (12) won the 2BBB with 48 points with Garry Wat (16) and Andrew Prices (21) runners-up on 47. Balls went to 36 OCB. NTP at the 5th was Graham Dowdell (180cm) and Andrew Lawson at the 17th (233cm).

On Saturday 5th December was our annual Short Course Championships sponsored by our Tuesday Club. A field of 80 played the yellow course, most pleased with better scores resulting from the longer holes being reduced in length. Justin Nelson, off 3 won with 68 over our Club Champion, Nat Foster, who scored 71. The Nett Winner was Monty Van Veen (33) with 45 points OCB over Greg Nankervis (33). Balls went to 40 points. Saturday's Nearest the Pins awards and the NTP sponsors are as follows. 2nd hole sponsored by Blue Mountains Plantation Shutters and Cabinet Making, Dave Birrell 55cm. 5th hole sponsored by Leading Edge Computers, Katoomba, R.Morrison 345cm. 7th hole sponsored SiLLY MiLLY Kids Clothing,  J.Nelson 40cm. 13th hole, sponsored by Blue Mountain Escapes, Monty Van Veen. 14th hole sponsored by Scully Legal, Dave Robertson 28cm. 17th hole, sponsored by Ben Cameron, Barry Simpson, 81cm. Barry’s shot was within 1.5 metres of the hole, so he also won the jackpotting Pro-Pin.

Remember our free Junior Clinics from 3.45 to 4.30pm during school terms. Any junior of school age is most welcome. No equipment required, just ring Darrin to find out more, or just turn up.
