Blackheath Golf Results Wednesday 2nd December - Saturday 5th December 2020

Blackheath Men…Wednesday 2nd December was time for the mountains favourite Midweek . A good field of 42 starters set out on a fine sunny day and finished the day with threatening storms…obviously didn’t upset todays winner too much with Mick Strong (29) recording a great score of 42 points picking up a $50 voucher. Mick had a great day as he and Ken Scully picked up the 2BBB spoils with 49 points winning a $50 voucher each. Nearest the pin on the 5th went to Carlos Donoso at 167 cms and on the 17th to Mick Lonergan with a Hole-In-One. Balls went to 37 points on a countback. Whilst we have some course modifications underway we are still the mountain’s top course so come on up and give Darrin a call on47875643 to book a spot.

Saturday 5th December…today the men played a stroke event for the December Medal and the all important Gold Medal playoff. The winner of the 2020 Gold Medal was Matt Windsor (16) with a fantastic nett 57.The A grade medal for December went to that great club stalwart..Carlos Donoso (11) with a great 63 nett, the B grade medal obviously went to Matt Windsor (16) with 57 nett and the C grade medal went to James Robertson (19) with a fine 62 nett. The playoff for the November medal went to Graham Dowdell (9) with 69 nett over Ian Griffiths and Nathan Benson.The winner of the Single Stableford was Don Griffiths (22) with 42 points The Scratch winner was Jon VanVeen (2) with 70 off the stick.Nearest the pin on the BJR Climbing and Equipment sponsored 2nd went to Graham dowdell at 74 cms, on the Leading Edge Computer Katoomba sponsored 5th to Darrell Gawthorpe at 477 cms, on the Monocure 3D sponsored 7th to Graham Dowdell at 465 cms, on the Victor Kanjian sponsored 13th to Jon VanVeen at 190 cms, on the Ken Scully sponsored 14th to John Hollis at 220 cms and on the Ben Cameron sponsored 17th to Adam Preen at 287 cms . Balls in the medal went to 67 nett and to 39 points in the Stableford event. Next Saturday is our Annual Medley Hams Day sponsored by the Claytons Club …get your name down quickly to avoid disappointment.

 

Blackheath Ladies…Thursday 3rd December dawned with lots of fog and drizzle but the Blackheath ladies being the hardy bunch they are set off to play. The winner of the Single Stableford sponsored by Joan Hart was Trish Honeysett (33) with 39 points. Next Thursday the ladies play a Single Stableford sponsored by Chris Rhind.

Saturday 5th December was a Single Stableford sponsored by Louise Stevenson.The winner was Margaret Booth (12) with 35 points on a countback from Chris Rhind (24) also on 35 points.Nearest the pin on the 2nd went to Margaret Booth, on the Loneragan Family sponsored 7th went to Cindy Fitzgerald and on the New Age Kitchens sponsored 17th to Celine Galvin. Balls went to 28 points. Next Saturday is the Medley Hams Day sponsored by the Claytons Club where almost everyone wins a prize.
