Blackheath Golf Results - Wednesday 29th Sep to Sat 2nd Oct

Blackheath Men…Wednesday 29th September was Midweek time again at the top of the hill.The  popular Wednesday competition had a good initial field of 50 players which unfortunately dwindled due to the dodgy weather but still the great scores continued with Russell Curtis (7) having an excellent 39 points.The 2 Ball Aggregate went to Graham Dowdell (8) with 34 points and Geoff Cope (12) with 35 points with an aggregate of 69 points. Balls went to 34 points. Remember if you would like to have a hit any Wednesday are a member with an AGU handicap call Darrin or Jack on 47875643.

Saturday 2nd October was our first Stoke round since the introduction of Covid 19 restrictions playing for the October medal. The A grade Medal winner will be decided in a playoff between Al Campbell (7) and Greg Alderson (11) who both had rounds of 66 nett. The B grade Medal winner was Alex Halliday (16) with a fine 63 nett and the C grade winner was Tom Curtis (30) with 64 nett. The Single Stableford played as an alternative to the stroke event went to Greg Nankervis (21) with 41 points. Balls in the Medal went to 69 nett and to 33 points in the Stableford. Next Saturday there will be a Medley Single Stableford and 2 Ball Multiplier sponsored by Lynne Pressley and Geoff Cope.

Blackheath Ladies…Monday 27th September was the 9 Hole single Stableford competition with good numbers again fronting up to the short format event. The winners were Helen Rabone (42) and Anne Morris (30) with 19 points. Remember if you’re at a loose end on Monday and are a current member with an AGU handicap come along and join in the fun.

Thursday 30th September was a Single Stableford sponsored by Louise Aaron. The winners were Rhonda Lonergan (21),Young Do (24) and Sandra Draper (24) with 34 points ahead of Trish Honeysett (27) with 33 points. Balls went to 29 points. Next Thursday the Ladies play a Stroke event for a club Medal and Rd 6 of the Roy Smith Memorial Bowl with a Single Stableford as an alternative for those not wishing to play the Stroke round.

Saturday 2nd October was a Single Stableford sponsored by Eve Sheppard. The winner was Lynne Pressley (18) with 33 points ahead of Louise Aaron (27), Jean Simpson (26) and Sandra Draper (24) with 32 points. Balls went to 26 points. Next Saturday is a Medley single Stableford and 2 Ball Multiplier sponsored by Lynne Pressley and Geoff Cope.
