Blackheath Golf Results Wednesday 26th August - Saturday 29th August 2020
Wednesday 26th August, Single Stableford and 2B Aggregate. More than 40 players played in the Midweek Stableford on a beautiful day, Cormac Miller (22) was the winner with an impressive 40 points over the constantly improving Greg Nankervis snr (27) on count back. Greg and John Beahan (Wentworth Falls) combined to win the 2B with 73 points.
Saturday 29th August, Irish Team Stableford with Singles in conjunction, sponsored by Stuart Brown, Larry Manning, Don Griffith, and Ray Stanford. The team of Henry Herron, Andrew Murray, Rod Tubbs, and Ted Griffin amassed an incredible 99 points to win the day, Henry also won the Singles Trophy with 43 points over an unlucky John Mahony on 42.
The nearest the pin competition has been suspended due to Covid restrictions but all birdies on par 3 holes are now rewarded with 2 golf balls, the results are as follows; 2nd (BJR Climbing Equipment), Alistair Campbell, 5th (Leading Edge Computers, Katoomba), Greg McDonald, Mick Hillier, Steve Caswell, 7th (Monocure 3D), Roger Pierce, David Hall, 13th (Victor Kanjian), Greg McDonald, Darryl Gawthorpe, Alistair Campbell, 14th (Ken Scully), Pat Kenny and 17th (Ben Cameron), Andy Lavis. Balls went to 36 points.
27th August, sponsored by Helen Rabone and Golden Ball Teams, sponsored by Mandy McAlister and Trish Honeysett. Singles winner on a beautiful day was Etsuko Saxton (40) with 37 points over Chris Rhind (27) on 36. The Golden Ball was won by Sandra Draper and Anne Morris with 39 points over Marilyn Rowe and Karen Tolhurst on 31.
Saturday 29th August, Single Stableford sponsored by Ros Allen, Etsuko Saxton (39) continued her great run of form by scoring an amazing 44 points to win the day, runner-up was Yvonne Murray (28) with 38 points. Suzie Tonkin won the Encouragement Award and balls went to 32 points.
