Blackheath Golf Results Wednesday 1st July - Saturday 4th July 2020
Wednesday 1st July, Midweek Stableford and 2B Aggregate. On a beautiful day we had 68 starters. Graham Jones (18) won the Singles with 37 points over Richard Soady (26) carding 36 after a long break, it was nice to see Richard make a great return, he also paired with Roger Saxton to win the 2B with 70 points on count back. Nearest the pins are back, Paul Rowe took the prize on 17 with a great shot to 140 cm and balls went to 31 points.
Saturday 4th July, Monthly Medal and Single Stableford. A freezing cold winter's day greeted our field of golfers for our monthly stroke event. In A Grade, Brett Scanlon (10) was the winner with 69 nett, in B Grade it was Matt Windsor (16), also with 69 and Glenn Mills (31) took the C Grade honours with 71. The best scratch score went to Johnathon Van- Veen (2) with 72 off the stick. John Wilson (22) had the best Stableford score with 36 points, balls went to 73 nett in the stroke and 31 points in the Stableford. Nearest the pins were as follows; 2nd (BJR Climbing and Equipment, John Van-Veen @ 360 cm, 5th (Leading Edge Computers, Katoomba), Graham Dowdell @ 498 cm, 7th (SiLLY MiLLY Kids Clothing), Brett Scanlan @ 510 cm, 13th (sponsor needed), Ian Fitzgerald @ 146 cm, 14th (Ken Scully), Kevin Pidgeon @ 350 cm and 17th (Ben Cameron), Brett Daly @ 803 cm.
BLACKHEATH WOMEN Thursday 2nd July, Ladies’ Single Stableford sponsored by Louise Aaron. On a wild and windy day, Roz Starkey (41) carded a fantastic 37 points, coming in second on count back was Rhonda Lonergan (24) with 33, balls to 25 points. Well done to all players for braving the conditions!
Saturday 4th July, Single Stableford sponsored by Louise Stevenson. Carrie Soady (25) won with an impressive 37 points over Yvonne Murray (29) with 36, balls went to 29 points. We welcomed visitors from Terry Hills, Wentworth Falls, Long Reef, Maitland, The Ridge and Moore Park.
